During a recent visit to Porthcawl, Altaf was able to witness first hand some commercial success stories - both new and well-established.
Altaf first met with Mr David Deere of T. Elwood Deere & Sons, who have been selling homes in Porthcawl since 1911, when the practise was established by the late T. Elwood Deere and Mr. Harry Lambert, trading then as Lambert Deere & Partners. Upon the death of Mr Harry Lambert the partnership was later known as T. Elwood Deere & Son., and today the two partners are the grandchildren of the founder namely David and his sister Rosemary.
Later, he paid a visit to 'Olivia's Coffee House, which has recently been refurbished, and spoke with owner Tamara about the challenges she had faced establishing a new businesses, and the factors she felt had contributed to her success. He enjoyed superb coffee and admired the elegant fashion with which the premises - also offering rooms and a Full Welsh Breakfast - has been refurbished to cater for the modern market.
