Altaf was thrilled to accept an invitation to the Pontarddulais Primary School Summer Fair, in support of the local community's campaign to save the school playing field from development by Swansea Labour Council.
In addition, he was given an impromptu a guided tour of the buildings and facilities by Chair of the Governing Body Mr Clive Mathias and Deputy Headteacher Mr Gareth Davies, where he met with staff, pupils and parents.
Altaf said: "This school is a local success-story. It is clear that the excellent staff go over and above what is required, to deliver a top class service for the community, and this is reflected in the school's performance. It was tremendous to see so many examples of good practice in action.
I have followed the campaign to save their playing field from development with great interest. It is my pleasure to join with Byron Davies MP in offering my full support to their efforts. Anyone wanting to see a great example of how to fight a local campaign very effectively could learn a lot from this very well-organised and motivated team"
