On Friday, South Wales West Welsh Conservative AM Dr Altaf Hussain met up with the team from ‘Hafal’ when he accepted an invitation to their "All Together Now" event held in Castle Square, Swansea. The event sought to bring mental health charities & service providers, users and carers together through music, showcasing the work of various local organisations involved.
After serving the NHS for 25 years until he retired as a Consultant Orthopaedic Surgeon, this was of particular interest to Altaf, who chatted about their campaign, which is supported not only by Hafal, but also by Bipolar UK, the Mental Health Foundation and Diverse Cymru.

Altaf said: "The work of the third sector is vital in breaking down the stigma that has sadly been associated with mental health issues all too often. These are health issues that can affect any of us. It was great to speak with people who have been service users, who are now empowered to lead lives that are every bit as rich and fulfilling – Hafal in particular has played a very significant role in their success stories".
